Francois heads up strategy and business development at Lightspeed Digital Media and has vast entrepreneurial and marketing experience. His ability to develop engaging brand marketing strategies, combined with his product retail experience, makes him a truly valuable asset to the team.

Prior to joining Lightspeed, Francois founded Just Brands Africa in 2014, a marketing consultancy that has worked with various companies in the FMCG, Agriculture, telecommunications and advertising industries. He was instrumental in developing marketing and sales strategies for brands and businesses like Angry Birds (Rovio), Alcatel, Meizu, Motorola, D6 School Communicator and Quick Turn Solutions, to name but a few.

Before founding Just Brands Africa, Francois and partners founded Yes! Holdings, a FMCG manufacturing company which combined physical products with digital rewards. In his position as marketing director, Francois developed a cross platform music application in partnership with Universal Music Group, which allowed consumers to download their favourite music when they purchase Yes! Soft drinks or maize snacks. Yes! also had a full-fledged print magazine which was distributed freely around the Western and Eastern Cape to all retailers who stocked Yes! Products. Prior to his entrepreneurial journey, Francois held brand management positions in FMCG for All Seasons dairy products and Intshona Agriculture and assisted in successfully positioning these brands and products within retail in Southern Africa.

He loves creating through-the-line marketing strategies for clients, combining traditional, digital and experiential marketing to truly engage a client’s brand with its current and future consumer base.
